Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from NHS digital leads, care home registered managers, and local authority commissioners.

Does ambient RF sensing emit harmful radiation or interfere with medical implants?

No. CuraWave operates strictly within standard Wi-Fi power limits (< 100 mW EIRP), identical to standard household Wi-Fi routers. It produces hundreds of times less RF emission than a mobile phone held to the ear, is fully compliant with ICNIRP public exposure guidelines, and does not interfere with pacemakers, insulin pumps, or acute medical telemetry.

How does CuraWave™ cover bathrooms through solid walls without cameras?

Radio-frequency waves in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz spectrums penetrate non-metallic building materials including plasterboard, wooden stud partitions, and glass shower screens. A single bedroom sensing node paired with a hallway reference node can detect human torso displacement and floor impacts inside the en-suite bathroom with zero optical cameras.

How does CuraWave™ connect to our existing Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC)?

CuraWave implements native BS 8521-2 (SCAIP over IP) and CENELEC EN 50134-9 digital telecare protocols. When a fall or respiratory emergency is confirmed, our Edge node dispatches an encrypted IP alarm frame directly to your existing ARC console (Tunstall PNC, Appello CareNet, Jontek, etc.) over broadband or dual-SIM 4G.
